Byline: Robert Sanchez and Justin Kmitch Daily Herald Staff Writers Don't hold your breath waiting for big new state road projects to get started next year in DuPage County. The Illinois Department of Transportation released a proposed six-year highway improvement program that pays for only a short list of local road improvement projects next year.
As for the two local projects getting the most state money next year - the improvement of York and Irving Park roads and the rebuilding of the old Manchester Road bridge in Wheaton - both are still years away from construction.
