Known for towing around a security blanket, the Peanuts character would undoubtedly applaud the efforts of student athletes at Naperville Central High School. This May, a collective group from several sports teams will present 200 hand-assembled blankets to patients at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
"Every year, we try to come up with something new," said senior Liz Young, who spearheaded the project. Young, captain of the girls water polo team, is one of 11 current Naperville Central athletes who has been to a summer leadership training ranch in Colorado.
