John F. Duriavich a longtime resident of West Chicago Visitation for John F. Duriavich, 86, will be from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Services will follow. Born April 15, 1919, in Kirkland, Ill., he passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006.
John's family first moved to Chicago before settling to farm on Wilson Road in West Chicago in 1929. John was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps and served as B-24 pilot during World War II, stationed out of England flying missions into Europe. He was recalled to the Air Force and served as a reconnaissance and transport pilot during the Korean Conflict flying out of Korea. After being honorably discharged from the service, he married Betty Ann Feibel in 1949, and...
