Byline: Jon Greenberg Daily Herald Correspondent C.J. Bacher looked like a starting quarterback Saturday afternoon at Northwestern's spring game. Then again, so did Andrew Brewer, and Mike Kafka didn't look half-bad himself. All three shared the snaps as the Wildcats held a public audition at Ryan Field for Brett Basanez's replacement.

But no one knows who will start in the season opener, Aug. 31 against Miami (Ohio). "I thought it was a great laboratory for our young quarterbacks," said Wildcats coach Randy Walker, speaking of the spring in general. "We put them in a lot of different situations.
