Byline: Jeff Newton Daily Herald Correspondent CHAMPAIGN - Before Saturday, Batavia senior Brittney Bernardoni had been a replacement on the Bulldogs' 800 relay. It wasn't such as bad thing as she could spend time concentrating on her signature event - the pole vault. But when she was called upon to anchor the 800 relay Saturday at the 16th annual Illinois Prep Top Times Invitational at the Armory on the campus of the University of Illinois, Bernardoni was ready and able.
