Byline: Joseph Ryan Daily Herald Staff Writer The owner of a Schaumburg flight school involved in the crash landing of a private plane on the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway in February has been stripped of his licenses after the Federal Aviation Administration said he falsified an instructor's application.
Documents related to the FAA's revocation of Mark Clements' pilot and instructor licenses do not show a direct connection to the Feb. 19 crash, which caused no serious injuries. Clements owns Northwest Aviation Inc., Schaumburg Airport's flight school. The school owns the downed single-engine plane and employs the flight instructor who crash-landed when the engine sputtered out after takeoff on a bitterly cold and windy Sunday afternoon.
