Earl L. Heckman of Elgin A celebration service for Earl L. Heckman, 87, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, at the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren. Burial will be private. Born Dec. 1, 1918, the son of John and Viola Landis Heckman, he passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at St. Alexius Medical Center.

Earl was a member of the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Heckman; his children, John (Faith) Heckman of Minnesota, Cindy (Ken) Heckman-Davis of Indiana and Anita (Jack Nelson) Heckman of California; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan J. Heckman; a sister, Anne E. Heckman; and a brother, David Heckman. Arrangements were made by Madison Funeral Home,...
