Q. Why isn't there a left-turn lane for drivers heading west on Butterfield who want to turn into Herrick Lake Forest Preserve? It's very dangerous because other drivers come up at about 50 mph behind cars who are trying to make that left turn, and then they swerve onto the shoulder instead of just stopping and waiting for the car in front of them to make the turn safely.
