Sarah Kathryn Sharkey Sarah Kathryn "Sally" Sharkey completed her earthly journey on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the Arlington Rehabilitation and Living Center in Long Grove, following a long illness. Funeral services and interment will be private Sally began that journey on Jan. 6, 1919, in Chicago.

She completed high school in Oak Park and continued her love of learning at Wright Junior College, Northwestern University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Iowa (B.A.), and eventually earned her M.A. in counseling at Loyola University. This Chicago native saw much of the United States during her long and varied career. She was a staff writer for NBC in Chicago.
