Byline: Daily Herald report There's a simple fix for NHL schedule This year's schedule has teams playing division opponents 32 times, conference opponents 40 times and just 10 games against teams in the other conference. I would love to see every team every year. If the league dropped one home/away game from each of the conference opponents, then teams could play a home/away game for every team in the league while still keeping the eight games against division opponents.

The Blackhawks are for real for three reasons: team speed, shooting accuracy and, yes, better goaltending. Martin Havlat is the real deal, but don't forget we also got Bryan Smolinski in the deal from Ottawa. Michal Handzus was a steal for Kyle Calder. Martin Lapointe, Patrick Sharp and...
