ITW's Farrell named Burnham recipient GLENVIEW - W. James Farrell, retired chairman of Illinois Took Works Inc., was honored this week with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce's 15th Daniel H. Burnham Award, which recognizes civic leaders who "shape the city that has yet to be." Farrell serves on the boards of 3M, Abbott, Allstate and UAL Corp., and his many affiliations include Northwestern trustee, Junior Achievement of Chicago chairman and director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.
