GOP has dragged its feet on immigration Six years ago, four years ago, two years ago the immigration issue was pretty much ignored. During that time, while Tammy Duckworth was busy fighting in the war in Iraq, the administration and Congress did nothing to address the issue. That was six years when the United States could have been building up a force of border guards and planning other means of controlling illegal immigration.
