Bison defend against Loyola.(Sports)

Byline: John Leusch Daily Herald Sports Writer OK, so Buffalo Grove's girls basketball team didn't bring its big-time offense to the big-time stage of Loyola University's Gentile Center on Saturday. The Bison did have that other part of the game which begins with the letter "D." While the offense was held to a season-low by Loyola Academy, the defense helped pave the way in a 45-34 triumph in the Gentile Holiday Classic.

Bison veterans Rachel Buchek, Allison Mocchi, Maggie Mocchi and Ellen Ayoub were playing for the third time of their careers on the Gentile floor. They lost a supersectional on it in 2005 and won one in 2006. "It was kind of funny when we walked into the gym," said Bison senior Rachel Buchek. "A lot of us had good and bad memories...
