American Airlines Inc. offers high-tech seats with a full digital entertainment center, video-on-demand and games. And many airlines are adding more leg room and upgraded meals, among other amenities.

United Airlines joined the pack Monday when it announced its $165 million investment for new high-tech seats on first-class international flights beginning late next year.
