Ian "Scotty" West of Elgin Visitation for Ian "Scotty" West, 88, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Burial will be private Friday, in Union Cemetery, St. Charles. Born Sept. 27, 1918, in Montreal, Canada, the son of Arthur and Jesse West, he passed away Monday, Jan.

8, 2007, at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. Mr. West was a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and practiced in Elgin for many years before retiring. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Elgin. Surviving are his daughter, Barbara Ann West of Longmeadow, Mass.; sons, David Ian (Karen) West of Bremerton, Wash., and Thomas West of St....
