Rodney E. Haarala of Wauconda for 23 years Visitation for Mr. Rodney E. Haarala, 48, will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 25225 W. Ivanhoe Road, Wauconda. Pastor Charles Merkner will officiate. Interment will be private.

Born March 27, 1958, in Hancock, Mich., he died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Crystal Lake. Mr. Haarala was a 1981 electrical engineering graduate with honors from Michigan Technological University. He was a former longtime employee at Motorola and was employed at CRI Engineering in Wauconda for two years. He was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Wauconda.
