Bruce E. Rice of Elgin Funeral services for Bruce E. Rice, 80, will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 51 Center St., Elgin, IL 60120. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be today from 3 to 8 p.m. in the funeral chapel.

Born Feb. 24, 1926, in Elgin, the son of Roy and Ada Rice, he passed away peacefully, Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at home. Bruce graduated from Elgin High School in 1944. He was a veteran, and served in the Air Force, where he acquired a lifelong love of flying. He attended the University of Illinois on the GI Bill in Elgin.
