Byline: Josh Stockinger Daily Herald Staff Writer A worker at a St. Charles manufacturing plant was flown to a hospital Monday after his body was entangled in a heavy-duty machine, fire officials said. The accident took place about 5:34 p.m. at American Powder Coatings, 420 S. 38th Ave., when the man's arm was caught in a machine's rolling pins, authorities said.

Firefighters spent about 30 minutes extricating the man, whom they would not identify, from the equipment. He was then taken by ambulance to nearby DuPage Airport, where a helicopter flew him to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Assistant St. Charles Fire Chief Kevin Christensen said the man was expected to survive, although the extent and specifics of his injuries remained...
