Delta waives mileage-transfer fee, adds bonus.(Going Places)(Trip tips)

Byline: George Hobica and Kim Liang Tan Daily Herald Correspondents Now's a good time to transfer some Delta Air Lines SkyMiles to family and friends because Delta is waiving its $25 processing fee and offering a 20 percent mileage bonus to the recipient. For example, if you transfer 10,000 miles, your recipient will receive an additional 2,000 miles for a total of 12,000 miles.
Up to 30,000 miles can be transferred in increments of 1,000. However, the transfer cost of $0.01 per mile still applies. This promotion is available through Feb. 15. Complete terms and conditions are available at www.airfarewatchdog.com.
