Byline: Dann Gire - As much as "Colour Me Kubrick" strives to make its self- described "true-ish" story accessible to audiences with the slightest recognition of Stanley Kubrick's name, this occasionally amusing tale of a con artist is best appreciated by cinema fans intimately acquainted with the late director's movies.
Chicago's John Malkovich stars as the appropriately named Alan Conway, a real Brit con man who impersonated the famous filmmaker during the 1990s. He ruined lives with false promises of jobs and stardom, all so he could keep himself plied with free alcohol and easy homosexual encounters. Malkovich turns "Colour Me Kubrick" into his own audition reel, imitating a different famous Hollywood personality each time he approaches a new victim....
