Byline: Dave Miller Daily Herald Sports Writer Danielle Ford is going to Drake University to pursue her dream. And she's going to play basketball, too. The Neuqua Valley 5-foot-5 senior guard committed Thursday to join Drake's women's basketball program as a walk-on with the potential to earn a scholarship.
She talked with Bulldogs coach Amy Stephens for 45 minutes in the morning, then called Stephens back after school to inform the coach of her decision. "She had nothing but positive stuff to tell me," Ford said. "It was very reassuring. She told me if I can prove myself and be as good as any other scholarship player she'll give a scholarship to me."
