Byline: Sara Faiwell Daily Herald Staff Writer A 21-year-old from Park Ridge was admitted to a hospital in Italy after being stabbed with an umbrella in a fight. Matthew Bochenek, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was involved in an altercation overseas and was hospitalized, said school spokesman Jeff Unger.
Bochenek, an engineering major, was in the country visiting friends when he was stabbed in the chest during a fight Thursday that involved about 20 people, according to Unger. The student was taken to a hospital in Rome to recover. Police there are investigating. sfaiwell@@dailyherald.com
