Byline: Russell Lissau Daily Herald Staff Writer Reached a few hours after a gunman killed 32 people and himself at Virginia Tech on Monday, sophomore Charlie Campbell said he didn't think he knew any of the victims of the rampage. That changed. Two of the dead students had been in a geology class with Campbell, who is from Mundelein.
He knew two others through friends. In the days after the shooting spree, Campbell and his classmates clung to each other for support and comfort. Some aren't finishing the semester.
