Dist. 15 sets service contract: Palatine Township Elementary District 15 and its Service Employees International Union have an agreement on a new five-year contract. The contract, which has already been approved by both the school board and union, takes effect at the start of the 2007-08 school year and runs through the 2011-12 year.
The union represents full- and part-time custodial employees, maintenance personnel, internal services, and transportation department mechanics. Terms of the agreement include a 3.5 percent wage increase in the first year with a two-year phase-in to eliminate the existing salary schedule, and then 3 percent increases in each subsequent year of the contract.
