Wickes Furniture expands to Chicago WHEELING - Wickes Furniture Co. Inc., a furniture retailer with more than 1,700 employees and 37 stores in four states, said it's opening a new flagship showroom in Chicago. The two-story facility at 2606 N. Elston Ave. is the first to carry Urban Innovations, a new metro line of furniture and accessories designed for smaller spaces such as city condos and apartments.

Wickes is owned by Boca Raton, Fla., private investment firm Sun Capital Partners Inc.
