Web site analyzes Zambrano's arm slot.(Sports)

Byline: Bruce Miles bmiles@@dailyherald.com SAN DIEGO - A Web site called hardballtimes.com has an interesting article concerning Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano and his "arm slot" as he throws the ball. The author, Carlos Gomez, analyzes video and notes that Zambrano's arm slot is indeed lower than it was in 2006.

However, Gomez notes he cannot conclude whether the lower arm slot is a result of Zambrano "protecting" an injured shoulder or if it stems from other, mechanical, issues. The Cubs have been working with Zambrano to "close" his body to the plate, and they say the arm slot follows from that.
