Fortune sued for patent violation DEERFIELD - Fortune Brands Inc. subsidiary Acushnet Co. is being sued by Callaway Golf Co., a sports equipment maker, for allegedly infringing five of Callaway's patents for golf clubs. Callaway claims some of Acushnet's Titleist and Cobra brand drivers use inventions patented since 2002, according to a lawsuit filed June 8 in federal court in Wilmington, Del.

The company faces another Callaway lawsuit filed in the same court last year alleging infringement of four golf ball patents.
