Helping the first overall pick in the 2007 NHL entry draft make it to that lofty status was, among a number of traits, his ability to stickhandle the puck.

And he didn't get as good as he is just by practicing on the ice. "When I was younger, I used to carry a stick and ball with me wherever I went," Kane said. "I used to get yelled at by the hotel manager, 'You can't do that here.' "But I'd find a way to stickhandle around the hallways, and it's really helped me out." It sure has. The 19-year-old is now one solid summer and one good training camp...
