Adkins ladkins@@dailyherald.com South Elgin will soon be offering a taste of Little Italy, complete with fresh cannoli, hand-stretched mozzarella cheese and wine imported from the country that's shaped like a boot. Caputo's Fresh Markets, which offers those foods and many more, on Wednesday announced plans to open a store in South Elgin, said Robertino Presta, the company's vice president.

The Addison-based company, not to be confused with the Elgin Fresh Market, plans to open within the next six months its sixth store, at 622 S. Randall Road. Dominick's Finer Foods had been in that location for five years but will close next week, a company spokeswoman said in a previous interview. A Jewel, Meijer and Super Target are within three...
