Little City, big sale Foundation takes over famous used book sale.(News)

Byline: Eric Peterson epeterson@@dailyherald.com A nationally famous used book sale will remain an annual fixture of the Chicago suburbs as Palatine-based Little City Foundation steps in as organizer and beneficiary this Saturday. Little City, which funds and runs programs for developmentally disabled people, will take over what's been called the world's largest used book sale, started 48 years ago by the Illinois North Shore Chapter of the Brandeis University National Women's Committee.
The nine-day book sale will be held, as usual, under a tent in the northwest parking lot of Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center at Old Orchard Road and Skokie Boulevard in Skokie. Only the name on the signs and the destination of the money will be different. "It...
