Livek, a senior right-handed pitcher from Carthage College, was taken by the Yankees in the 28th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

His catcher on the 2003 Saxons, Jordan Wolf, was taken in the 13th round by the Orioles out of Xavier. Former teammates John Hummel and Trey Johnston were draft picks who also played in the minor leagues.
