Byline: Catherine Edman cedman@@dailyherald.com Lately, living in DuPage County is a little like living in a 1950s horror flick: "Invasion of the (pesky bug name here.)" In honor of a seemingly endless supply of threatening, monster- like or just downright gross insects, we have declared this the Summer of Bugs.

And to help separate the mild pests from the truly terrifying, we even have created our very own "Ickyometer." Bug expert Russel Higgins of the University of Illinois Extension service played along and helped rank the Top 10. The list largely was derived from a tally the extension service keeps of inquiries for the past year that originated in DuPage County.
