Daily Herald (Arlington Heights, IL), July, 2007
Byline: Roberta Stewart The Planter's Palette This year's Perennial Festival at the Planter's Palette features a musical theme, with garden designers drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Ricky Nelson and Jimi Hendrix. "Garden Melodies" runs July 7-15 at the Winfield garden center.
Each year, Planter's Palette staff members break into teams to create fanciful gardens that delight and inspire. Special classes and short daily demonstrations are offered to expand your horticultural knowledge, while complimentary popcorn and lemonade refresh you. Join a staff-led tour at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m., or venture through each garden on your own. Last year's theme, "Once Upon A Time," had gardens such as a trip down the rabbit's hole into "Alice's Wonderland"...
