Bernhardt "Barney" Langer of Palatine

Visitation for Bernhardt "Barney" Langer, 78, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Funeral services and interment will be private. Born April 13, 1929, in Chicago, he passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Mr. Langer was the founder and owner of Langer Printing Company of Palatine, starting the company in 1952. Barney served his community as a member of the Palatine Volunteer Fire Department for 23 years, rising to the rank of assistant chief. He was a member of the inaugural class of emergency medical technicians in the Palatine area. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family,...
