Roy B. Olson of Grayslake A funeral service for Roy B. Olson, 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the funeral home. Born July 13, 1930, in Chicago, to the late Berger and Wilma Olson, he passed away Wednesday March 19, 2008, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Roy moved from Chicago to Grayslake in 1971, and remained an active member of the community for more than 30 years. His accomplishments as a Park District Board member include the development of JC Park and its tennis courts and ball fields, as well as Jones Island and its seawall.
