Edward R. Griffiths Sr. formerly of Wheaton Edward R. Griffiths Sr., 79, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Egg Harbor, Wis., after a short illness. He was born March 22, 1928, in Pennsylvania, the son of Trevor and Margaret Griffiths. On April 18, 1948, he married Jean Garner in Newport, N.C.

He served in the Marine Corps, received a B.S. from Wheaton College and an M.S. and post-graduate work from Northern Illinois University. He was superintendent of the Winfield Public Schools for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two infant granddaughters.
