Elvira M. "Ella" Langys a resident of South Elgin The family and friends of Elvira M. "Ella" Langys, formerly of Chicago, will gather for a 10:30 a.m. memorial Mass Thursday, April 3, at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15692 S. Route 59, Plainfield. Born Jan. 16, 1945, in Germany, she passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at Provena St.

Joseph Hospital in Elgin, after a long and painful illness. She was a homemaker. She was the beloved wife of 44 years to Norbert J.; loving mother of Alexander Elfine, Norbert G. (Wendy) Langys, Marilyn Langys and Robert (Barbara) Langys; and proud grandmother of nine. Arrangements were made by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel, 800-588-1132.

    Ella was my wife, life partner, friend and confidant for 45 years
    we have 4 children and nine grandchildren who she loved dearly,
    Her loss devastated and incapacitated me for a long time, and only recently has sunshine come back into my life
    Elvira will be missed and not forgotten in my lifetime
