Black & Co in Portland, Oregon added two Nasdaq/listed sales traders: Kim Chun from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Kristi Pilkington from Bidwell & Co.

William Gaulp joined Buckingham Research in New York as a sales trader. He was previously with Gruntal & Co.

Jimmy Bernard, previously an options trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, joined Tejas Securities Group Inc. in Austin, Texas as vice president of equity trading.

Knight Trading Group hired Walter McBride as chief information officer. He was previously a principal in Ernst & Young's consulting services information technology practice.

William Thomson, previously a Nasdaq trader at Advest Group, founded the hedge fund, Doune Capital LP, in West Hartford, Conn.
