May 1--TOPEKA, Kan.--Boeing Wichita's request for $500 million in state-backed financing to compete for future commercial airline work easily cleared the Senate on Wednesday.

The bill now heads for a House committee, which could send it to the full House for debate Friday.

Senators approved the bill 34-6 with little debate. All senators from the Wichita area supported the bill.
