Roadway Contingency Plans Irk UPS. (Originated from Traffic World)

Jul. 26--David's contingency plan is getting on Goliath's nerves. Roadway Packgle System, Pittsburgh, the 10-year-old rival to United Parcel Service in the $18 billion-a-year expedited small package delivery market, is aggressively promoting its contingency plan just in case UPS faces a strike by Teamsters union employees after their contract expires July 31.

"Anything is possible in a situation like that," said Edward DiSalvo, RPS vice president of sales. "We have to do what we can control. That's been monopolizing our time."
