Audio Book Rental Center Hopes to Be Blockbuster. (Originated from The News, Boca Raton, Fla.)

Sep. 11--A trio of former IBMers in Boynton Beach hope to do for audio book rentals what Blockbuster did for movie rentals. Audio Book Connection, a store that rents audio books, opened earlier this month offering about 1,600 titles, including bestsellers Tom Clancy's "Without Remorse" and Rush Limbaugh's "The Way Things Ought To Be."

The store's sole focus is renting books that have been narrated on cassette tape, said Rick Clagett, a co-owner of the store along with Carol and Mike Moore.

Prices vary, depending on the book. Clancy's abridged, two-tape version of "Without Remorse," which retails for about $17, rents for $2.99 for seven days.
