Pirelli Cable to Move North American Headquarters to South Carolina. (Originated from The State, Columbia, S.C.)

Sep. 16--Pirelli Cable said Wednesday it will move its North American headquarters to Lexington County, clinching a deal economic developers say required unprecedented cooperation between businesses and area governments.
Pirelli will build its new headquarters on nine acres of land near it Lexington County fiber-optic cable plant. The company will bring about 50 Pirelli executives to the Midlands from Florham Park, N.J.
Italian-owned Pirelli will spend about $3 million on the headquarters, said officials with the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
But getting the headquarters here took a full-court press from officials in Columbia and Lexington and Richland counties.
