Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News, September, 1993 by Lee, Mark
Sep. 23--Officials at KFC Corp., parent company for Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, expect their new roasted chicken to carry KFC into the next century.
And the expected jump in chicken sales is good economic news for the Oklahoma farmers and food processing workers who are major KFC suppliers. Simmons Industries Inc. and Tyson Foods Inc. have extensive Oklahoma operations, and each is supplying about half of KFC's chicken in this region.

The roasted chicken was first introduced in East Coast restaurants in July.
