ANAHEIM, Calif.--Oct. 25--They are the Corporate Undead, business leaders who have lost their jobs - either voluntarily or otherwise - only to return to a position of power at their old companies.

Often, when they come back, these CEOs lead their companies to new glory. Jack Brown, chairman of Stater Bros. supermarkets, is Undead. So is Wendy's founder Dave Thomas, and John Diebel, founder of Irvine-based Meade Instruments.

Now, Carl Karcher wants to join the club. Karcher's feud with management at Carl Karcher Enterprises, parent of Carl's Jr., has made him a non-factor at his company. He's been voted out as chairman and left as a director, a position that limits his influence.
