American Eagle Wheel Corp. May Land in York, S.C., in Two Years. (Originated from The Herald, Rock Hill, S.C.)

YORK, S.C.--Nov. 11--American Eagle Wheel Corp. will probably wait another two years before bringing its $10 million plant and 300 jobs to the York area, said the developer and marketer of the park where the company owns land.

In June 1992, the company announced plans to phase out its 104,000- square-foot plant in Chino, Calif., and move to a 30-acre site in East York Industrial Park by Thanksgiving 1993. However, construction has not yet begun.

Plant executives have delayed the move because of their concerns over expenses involved in the method they will use to treat zinc, which is a byproduct of their manufacturing operations, said Jim Heckle of York Electric Cooperative, which is developing and marketing East York Industrial Park.
