Shippers Look to Air Freight Ventures to Replace Air Canada Capacity. (Originated from Traffic World)

Mar. 28--Air shippers in Canada are putting together a patchwork of alternatives this week to replace the longtime national freighter network that Air Canada has pulled from the skies.

"It's safe to say users have found alternative lift," said Kal Tobias, president of the Canadian Courier Association and the president and chief executive officer of DHL International in Canada.

The options being stitched together include additional all-cargo capacity from PWA Corp.'s Canadian Airlines International, some new space being put in the air by smaller operators and even some space on the competing overnight network Purolator Courier is launching this week.
