Fox Acquisitions Could Result in Sale of Local Boston TV Channel. (Originated from The Boston Globe)

May 25--In one of the great coups in network television history, Fox Inc. on Monday said a dozen big-city stations will defect from CBS, ABC and NBC. The switch-over will occur in cities far from Boston, such as Dallas, Detroit and Atlanta. But seemingly few decisions made by Rupert Murdoch, Fox's owner and chairman, fail to directly affect Boston.
Indeed, as a result of Murdoch's latest deal, WSBK-TV (Ch. 38) could find itself up for sale, sources said yesterday. Here's why:
