SEC Brings New York Financier Robert Brennan to Trial. (Originated from Philadelphia Inquirer)

NEW YORK--June 27--During a break last week in the securities fraud trial of First Jersey Securities and owner Robert Brennan, the dapper financier walked up to reporters to engage in a little tit for tat.

Loudly, with a taunting tone meant to be overheard by Securities and Exchange Commission lawyers nearby, he urged the press to look for sexual harassment at the SEC.

"It's perversion," he snarled, glancing to make sure the SEC lawyers had heard.

A moment later he turned to a CNN reporter who had done an unflattering story on Brennan. With a mockingly sweet voice, he warned, "You'll have to eat those words."

And later, standing outside the courtroom for an interview, he switched to the wounded tone of a Boy Scout wrongly accused, earnestly...
