Dec. 29--A small Atlanta-based real estate firm purchased Columbus Square Mall for an undisclosed amount Wednesday.
Buckhead Equities Inc., a subsidiary of Bradco Inc., took control of the Macon Road mall after it wired funds Wednesday afternoon to Rouse Co. and Cigna Corp. - the mall's co-owners since 1988.
"We're confident that we can turn the mall around," said Frank B. Bradshaw III, president of Bradco Inc. "We don't have a doubt in our minds."
A real estate deed documenting the sale of Columbus Square Mall had not been filed with the city late Wednesday.
City records show the value of the mall to be $21 million in 1993. Rouse and Cigna paid $31.4 million for Columbus Square in 1988.
