Waste Technology Tops Jacksonville, Fla., Index of Public Firms.(Originated from The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville)

May 29--There are people in Korea and China who can tell you all about Waste Technology Corp. They're using baling machines made by the company's main subsidiary, International Baler Corp.

"We've got a product that's known worldwide," said Waste Technology President and CEO Ted C. Flood.

But ask people in Waste Technology's hometown of Jacksonville and they may not know anything about the company. Flood is hoping the lack of recognition will change as the company becomes more profitable.

And maybe that will happen soon, as Waste Technology tops the Times- Union's annual ranking of Jacksonville public companies, with a return on average equity of 39.42 percent in fiscal 1994. The survey ranks 26 publicly traded companies based in the Jacksonville area...
